PTA

The PTA is a good way to get involved in your child's school and feel part of the community. We put together and organise events and activities that raise extra funds for the school which in turn helps to enhance the school environment and improve learning resources. The PTA have raised money in previous years to fund new latop computers for the children to use in class, books for the library and to make use of the woodland area at the back of the school. This year we are continuing our focus of raising money to purchase staging for the school hall and to help the Middlewich schools network resurrect inter school events.

You don't join the PTA and it's not an exclusive “club” as many people believe. We are simply a group of parents who are passionate about our school who meet to organise the events and activities. We hold at least one meeting per term and planning meetings for the Christmas and Summer Fairs. You will not be obliged to attend the meetings if that's not for you there are other ways to get involved.

  1. Online shopping: Simply go to your usual shopping sites through: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/panel/ the site works by giving a percentage of what you spend to the school. It does not cost you anything to do you need to just create a free account with the site and select “Byley Primary School PTA” as your chosen charity.

  2. Helping with an event: We alays need volunteers especially with the fairs all you need to do is let us know either at the planning meeting or by email letting us know what you would like to do and how much time you can spare.

  3. Email: maybe you are a very busy parent/ guardian and cannot make meetings or events but you can still be involved just by emailing in ideas and information

  4. Help to gather donations: We have several prize draws and raffles throughout the school year and we always need donations of prizes. These don't need to be from you they can be from anywhere especially local busineses.

Being involved in the PTA is a great way to get connected within the school community and build relationships with teachers and other parents, it's an extra way of knowing what's going on in school and also an opportunity to share ideas, experiences and skills. It has been said that the number one reason people don't come to the PTA meetings is because no one asked...... we are asking!
